"Mediazona" reports that the Basmanny Court of Moscow sentenced the former "Channel One" employee Marina Ovsyannikova to eight and a half years in a general regime colony in absentia.

The court found Ovsyannikova guilty of spreading a "fake" about the Russian army that incites political hatred. The prosecutor's office asked for nine and a half years in prison for Ovsyannikova.

In March 2022, Marina Ovsyannikova came out with an anti-war poster during a live broadcast on Channel One. After that, he became known to the world. After the action, the journalist was fired, left Russia and worked in Germany for several months. Later, he returned to Moscow and continued to participate in anti-war activities. He was fined three times for defaming the army.

In August 2022, a criminal case was opened against Ovsyannikova for a "fake" about the Russian army. The reason for this was that he organized a picket in front of the Kremlin with a placard saying "Putin is a murderer". The poster reads: "Putin is a murderer." His soldiers are Nazis. 352 children died. How many more children have to die for you to stop (the war)?” — it was written.

Ovsyannikova was put under house arrest, but she escaped with her daughter. According to Ovsyannikova's social networks, she is now in Paris.
