Passenger transport has been updated in the administrative center of the Sughd region.
The authorities have already implemented 50% of the “Development of Public Transport in Khujand” project.
The chairman of the region, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda, got acquainted with the progress of work.
As part of the project, more than 100 passenger buses were imported from Russia, and a system of paying for travel with transport cards was launched.
To improve the service, it is planned to purchase 20 more electric buses, the press service of the government of the Sughd region added.
“Instruments and equipment were imported from China, Turkey and Russia, which will make it possible to make serious changes in the direction of the institution’s activities and meet current modern requirements,” the statement says.
Also, according to the plan, 13 production and repair shops, a fuel supply point, a car wash, control of the entry and exit of passenger vehicles and their regular operation on routes, a kitchen will be built, and a reservoir for fire extinguishing will be built.
