Russia reduces visa-free stay for foreigners to 90 days per year

From January 1, 2025, changes to the legislation on the period of temporary stay of foreign citizens entering Russia came into force.

In particular, the period of visa-free stay of foreigners in Russia has been reduced to 90 days per year. Previously, this period was 180 days.

The changes apply to foreign citizens entering Russia without a visa. The period of temporary stay of foreigners entering Russia with a visa remains unchanged.

At the same time, from February 5, 2025, Russian border guards will have the right to refuse entry to a foreign citizen who may pose a threat to the country's security.
