Russia may impose restrictions on migrant money transfers

A bill was introduced into the Russian State Duma prohibiting the transfer to the homeland of money in excess of the monthly salary of labor migrants. The initiative belongs to the deputies of the new people faction.
The deputies argued that such a restriction would serve to increase tax revenues to the budget and prevent the outflow of funds whose source is unknown abroad.
