Russia and India have announced a new agreement that will allow them to send military forces, equipment and ships to each other's territories. According to the agreement, each country can send up to 3,000 military personnel, 10 military aircraft and 5 military ships to each other's territory. The decision covers areas such as joint military exercises, training camps, humanitarian aid and disaster relief. According to the document, military aircraft must be notified at least 14 days in advance, and military ships must be notified in advance through diplomatic channels in accordance with the established procedure. The agreement was ratified by the Russian parliament in December 2025 and entered into force on January 12, 2026. It is valid for 5 years and can be automatically extended for another 5 years. The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the agreement will serve to further strengthen military cooperation between the two countries.
