Ruble depreciates in Tajikistan

The National Bank of Tajikistan announced the value of the somoni against the currency.

According to the regulator's scoreboard, the value of the Russian ruble in the foreign exchange market of the republic has decreased. So, according to the latest data, the price of 1000 rubles is 116.5 somoni.

A day earlier, such a volume of Russian currency could be bought for 117 somoni.

Earlier, the ruble strengthened slightly after the decision of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to raise the refinancing rate. However, this situation did not last long.

The American dollar has risen in price a little. If a day ago the US currency was worth 10.9600 somoni, now it is 10.9603 somoni.

The position of the European currency also improved. According to the National Bank, now for every euro they give 11.9533 somoni. This despite the fact that the day before it could be bought for 11.9102 somoni.

EDB: somoni will fall by the end of 2023

As of August 22, the average selling rate of cash foreign currency in institutions of credit organizations in Tajikistan is set as follows:

1 dollar - from 10.9603 to 11.0000 somoni;

1 euro - from 11.9533 to 12.2000 somoni;

1 Russian ruble - from 0.1165 to 0.1195 somoni.

The National Bank of Tajikistan warns that non-compliance with the rules of foreign exchange transactions leads to administrative and criminal liability.
