US presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. said that if elected, he would end the war in Ukraine within 100 days, he wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

He assured that the war would end "on better terms than anyone expected."

Robert Kennedy Jr. is 69 years old. He is the son of Robert Kennedy, who was a senator from the state of New York in 1965-1968 and the former US Attorney General (1961-1964). The elder Robert Kennedy is the brother of former US President John F. Kennedy, who was shot dead in Dallas in 1963. Like his brother, Robert Kennedy was shot during the election campaign.

Robert Kennedy Jr. is a lawyer and environmental activist. He is also known for his views on vaccination against the coronavirus. Kennedy has opposed vaccination and has repeatedly criticized the actions of US officials in the fight against the pandemic, according to CNN.

He filed for the presidential election on April 6 as a candidate of the Democratic Party.

The politician has spoken about military operations in Ukraine and relations with Russia several times before. In particular, in April, he called the war between Moscow and Kiev a big problem for the United States, because it accelerates the rapprochement between Russia and China, which is the worst outcome for Washington. In late July, Kennedy Jr. warned of an "existential war" with Russia, noting that Moscow had a large stockpile of nuclear weapons.
