The chairman of the Tourism Committee, Abdulaziz Okkulov, criticized the condition of toilets at gas stations at a press conference. Okkulov noted that the substandard condition of some toilets has also spoiled his taste. The chairman said that the issue is not being taken seriously because the stations do not benefit from this service.
It was also openly discussed that, although there are responsible agencies that monitor the sanitary situation, some shortcomings are temporarily hidden during inspections or facilities are only put in order before the inspection. The Tourism Committee noted that public control is important in eliminating this problem, noting that the demand for services by citizens helps to improve the quality of service. It is worth recalling that currently about 11 thousand toilets operate in tourism facilities and roadside areas of Uzbekistan.
