"Uzbekistan temir yollari" JSC announced that due to the scorching heat, restrictions will be imposed on the speed of trains.
"Currently, anomalously hot weather is observed in the territory of our republic. Of course, as a result of the rise in temperature, the temperature of the rails of the surface railways and their steel parts will be very high. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of passengers and trains, restrictions are set on the speed of trains. As a result, the trains may run late from the schedule," the report said.
It is also said that the capacity of the cooling system may decrease in trains with speed restrictions.
"Uztemiryolyolucchi" JSC apologizes to its customers for the inconvenience caused by the abnormal heat.
In 2022, it was reported that the train schedule will be changed due to abnormally hot weather in Uzbekistan. This is not the first time that this practice is happening under the influence of hot weather. In June last year, the speed of trains was reduced twice, and the timetable was changed.
