Regions with a high level of poverty were reported in Uzbekistan

The Republic of Karakalpakstan, Syrdarya and Khorezm regions are regions with a high level of poverty. The Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Employment has published statistics on the level of poverty in Uzbekistan (.pdf). According to him, according to the data of the first 6 months of 2023, it became known that the Republic of Karakalpakstan is the region with the highest level of poverty - 19.7 percent. The next places are occupied by Syrdarya (19.5) and Khorezm (19.1) regions. Tashkent city (8.5 percent), Navoi (9.2 percent) and Bukhara (11.9 percent) regions are included in the regions with a low poverty rate. It is noted that more than 1.3 million families are considered poor in Uzbekistan today, the poverty rate is 14.1 percent.
