Regional security concept adopted in Central Asia

On November 16, a joint statement was adopted at the end of the VII Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia. The following important decisions were announced in it:

🔹 Submission of Kyrgyzstan's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2027-2028 to the UN;
🔹 Azerbaijan's accession to the Consultative Meetings as a full member;
🔹 Adoption of the Concept of Regional Security and Stability in Central Asia;
🔹 Action plans for 2026-2028 to address security threats.

At the summit, the President of Turkmenistan announced that he would chair the meeting in the new "Central Asia and Azerbaijan" format in 2026. The Central Asian leaders unanimously approved Azerbaijan's accession as a full member.
