“Real Sanjik” sentenced to 5 years in prison

On May 8, a criminal case involving businessman Sanjar Karimov was reviewed in court. He was found guilty under Article 168 (fraud), Article 112 (threat of violence), and Article 273 (illegal handling of narcotic and psychotropic substances) of the Criminal Code. The court sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine equal to 410 base calculation units. The defendant stated that he disagrees with the verdict.

The case originated from the so-called “Controversial House” incident in 2024. A man identified as Sh.R. allegedly gained a girl’s trust by promising marriage, then manipulated her into property-related transactions. He was later arrested for multiple fraud cases. In November 2025, he was sentenced to 9 years in a general-regime colony. The house-related issue and further criminal allegations connected to “Real Sanjik” also sparked public debate.
