Ramadan Start and Eid al-Fitr Dates Announced for 2026

At the Fatwa Council meeting of the Board of Heads of Muslim Religious Authorities of the Turkic States Organization (TDT) held in Samarkand, it was determined that the first day of Ramadan 2026 will be Thursday, February 19, and Eid al-Fitr will fall on Friday, March 20.

The Fatwa Council’s decision demonstrates the commitment of Muslim communities in TDT countries to unity and religious practices, harmonized with modern scientific calculations.

The council meeting took place from February 2–4 in Samarkand and brought together representatives of religious authorities from TDT member states (Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan) and observer states (Turkmenistan, Hungary).
