Rakhmon met with Olaf Scholz

They discussed cooperation in trade, education and tourism, and following the meeting, the President of Tajikistan invited the German Chancellor to visit the republic

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz in Berlin.

This was reported in the press service of the head of the republic.

Thus, during the meeting, the parties identified the highest priority areas for the development of the two countries. Among them are light and food industries, metallurgy, mining and mechanical engineering.

In addition, the importance of attracting foreign investment in a number of areas of Tajikistan was noted.

During the negotiations, the leaders of the two countries touched upon the topic of cooperation in trade, transport, energy and cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The parties also talked about the possibility of interaction in matters of education and tourism, the press service noted.

At the same time, the presidential administration emphasized that the most important topic of the negotiations was climate change, including the use of water resources.

It was decided to jointly develop green energy production capacity and implement Tajikistan’s global initiatives in the field of glacier and water protection.

Russia and Tajikistan are implementing more than 30 joint projects

Following the meeting, Rahmon invited Scholz to visit Tajikistan.

Let us recall that within the framework of the international forum “Dushanbe Invest - 2023”, it became known that Russia and Tajikistan are implementing more than 30 joint projects, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin.

He noted that more than 100 billion rubles will be invested in the projects.

“Interaction between Russia and Tajikistan continues to develop in the spirit of strategic partnership. We hope that this cooperation will expand,” the Russian Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
