The leaders of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan expressed their readiness for an open and detailed conversation in all areas of bilateral cooperation
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the head of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov discussed the issue of border delimitation.
This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
It is noted that the negotiations took place on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Bishkek.
“The leaders of the countries discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, a wide range of topics, including issues of delimitation and demarcation of the state border,” the press service stated.
Also, a representative of the presidential press service in a conversation with RIA Novosti added that the heads of state exchanged views on the regional and international agenda and the upcoming meeting of the Council of Leaders of the CIS countries.
“The importance of continuing regular political dialogue to strengthen good neighborliness between the two countries and peoples was emphasized,” the press service said.
In addition, following the negotiations, Rakhmon and Japarov expressed their readiness for an open and detailed conversation in all areas of bilateral cooperation, the press service concluded.

Earlier, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Saimumin Yatimov and his Kyrgyz colleague Kamchybek Tashiev discussed the issue of delimitation and demarcation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border.
The leaders of the working groups of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan expressed the importance of resolving the remaining sections of the state border between the two countries and gave specific instructions to the members of the working groups.
During the meeting, the parties considered it important to strengthen friendship, mutual understanding and trust between residents of border areas and intensify bilateral cooperation.
The length of the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan is more than 980 km.
