Rahmon went to Rogun: the reason

The head of Tajikistan got acquainted with the progress of construction work at the Rogun hydroelectric power station, including the highway and tunnel

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon began a working trip to the Rogun HPP.

This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

The Tajik leader, accompanied by the country's Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, inspected the Rogun-Obigarm-Nurobod highway.

The president was also introduced to the project of auto communication from Rogun to the Shurob hydroelectric power station.

A bridge with a length of more than 1.5 km will be erected along this route. In total, the road will stretch for a distance of 11 km. The route is important in the transport of goods. Construction work began in 2021.

Also, the head of Tajikistan was shown the construction of an access tunnel to the hydroelectric power station.

The tunnel, which is almost 400 meters long, is unique in that it is located at an altitude of over a kilometer above sea level.

Later, Emomali Rahmon went to mine No. 17. Drilling and laying of alumina material is being completed here.

The leader of the country also visited the canteen where employees eat. The total area of the building is 1.7 thousand square meters. m, it can simultaneously accommodate 500 people.

Rahmon offered the EU to finance the completion of the Rogun HPP

It should be noted that more than 5.8 thousand workers, engineers and other specialists, as well as more than 950 units of equipment, are employed in the construction of the Rogun HPP.
