The Tajik President noted the need to create an inclusive Afghan government that would guarantee the rights and freedoms of the population
The Tajik authorities are in favor of a peaceful resolution of the situation in Afghanistan, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said at a summit of leaders of Arab countries and Central Asian states, which is taking place in Saudi Arabia.
"Tajikistan has always stood for a peaceful solution in Afghanistan," he said.
As Rahmon noted, the Tajik side supports the creation of an inclusive Afghan government that can represent all ethnic, political and social groups to guarantee the rights and freedoms of the population, especially women.
"This will create a solid ground for peace," the president of the republic stressed.
He added that Tajikistan supports all diplomatic efforts to resolve the situation and deliver humanitarian assistance to those in need in Afghanistan.

He also called on the leaders of the Arab states and Central Asian countries to cooperate in the fight against transnational crime and drug trafficking.
