Rahmon: SCO is a unique example of interconnectedness of civilizations and cultures

The President of Tajikistan spoke about the prospects for the expansion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the nature of its further development

In connection with the growing interest of countries and organizations in obtaining status in the SCO, it is time to think about developing a concept for its further expansion, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said.

This judgment was made by the Tajik leader during the 23rd summit of the heads of states of the alliance.

As the President of Tajikistan noted, the Shanghai Union should continue to develop on the basis of mutual respect and non-direction against other countries.

Speaking about the expansion of the SCO, he congratulated Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi on joining the council of heads of state of the alliance and welcomed the signing of a memorandum of commitment by Belarus, which paves the way for its membership in the organization.

Recall, the summit of the heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization opened in Indian New Delhi. It runs in virtual mode.
