President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with his colleague from Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

During the conversation, the Tajik leader emphasized the importance of cooperation at the regional level for the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia.

It is noted that Tatarstan is one of the economically leading regions of the Russian Federation.

Among the daily tasks, the strengthening and expansion of direct economic ties between economic entities and business circles in the real sector of the economy were considered.

Various industries were named as promising areas of cooperation, including mining and metallurgical, oil and gas and chemical, light and food industries, pharmaceuticals, construction, energy, transport and communications, agriculture and tourism.

In addition, the parties noted the potential for the growth of mutual trade, as well as the joint implementation of investment projects.

Rahmon stressed the importance of learning the Russian language for Tajikistan

During the conversation, the leaders of the two countries also touched upon the topic of expanding cultural and humanitarian ties, including in the field of education, science and healthcare.

The heads of state expressed confidence that Minnikhanov's visit to Dushanbe would serve to strengthen cooperation within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia.
