Rahmon congratulated the people of Tajikistan on Independence Day

Congratulating the citizens of the republic and foreign compatriots, Emomali Rahmon named the main achievements during the time of state sovereignty of Tajikistan.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated the Tajik people on the 32nd anniversary of the country's independence.

In a congratulatory telegram, the president noted that during the time of state sovereignty of Tajikistan, the country has developed and prospered, and the standard of living of people has increased.

"Today, according to the glorious history of our independent state over the past thirty-two years, it becomes obvious that, compared with the ancient history of our people, this stage is not a very long period, but it is considered unique in terms of the scale of work performed during this period," Rahmon said.

The Tajik leader also mentioned the civil war that was once imposed on the people of Tajikistan, after which the republic acquired state symbols, which currently represent an independent state.

"Let me remind you that the path we have traveled for over three decades is full of ups and downs, the glorious people of Tajikistan were able to selflessly defend independence from the provocations of internal and external ill-wishers of the Tajik nation and state, put an end to the imposed civil war, restore peace, stability and national unity in the country," the telegram says.

Rahmon listed Tajikistan's achievements, which included two gigantic power plants, in addition to the major building of the century, Rogun.

He also recalled that the Tajik authorities plan to ensure another strategic national goal - the energy independence of the country.

"In this context, we have built thousands of kilometers of roads, highways and bridges in accordance with international standards and turned Tajikistan, divided into three parts, into a single territory and a transit country, that is, we freed it from a communication impasse and achieved the strategic goal that we proclaimed in this direction ", Rahmon concluded.

The President of Tajikistan stressed that the country has established friendly relations with all countries of the world, as well as with influential international organizations in a short time.

In addition, he highlighted the fact that the republic is currently recognized in the international arena as an initiative and leading state in solving global problems related to water and climate.

Rahmon also called on all Tajiks to unite during this difficult time, because there are global threats to the country, such as terrorism and extremism.

"In other words, we must always be vigilant, sharp-witted and prepared on the path of protecting the security of the state and the achievements of the period of independence - peace, tranquility, political stability and national unity," the President of Tajikistan conveyed.

Main holiday: Tajikistan celebrates Independence Day

It should be reminded that annually in September the inhabitants of the republic celebrate on a grand scale one of the main state holidays of the country - Independence Day.

On this day, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, as well as chairmen of regions and districts, traditionally make holiday addresses. In their messages they tell what successes the republic has achieved during the years of independence.

In 2023, the republic celebrates the 32nd anniversary of the memorable date.
