Projects worth $6 billion launched in Kashkadarya

With the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, 69 projects with a total value of $6 billion were launched in the Kashkadarya region, and construction began on another 92 projects.

Nearly 7,000 permanent jobs are being created at the new industrial enterprises. The Italian brand "Cotonella" is establishing production for 8.5 million knitwear items annually. An additional 18,000 jobs are planned to be created through 14 other projects in the textile sector.

Major projects are also being implemented in the agricultural sector. The enterprise "Wosune Food Ingredients Karshi" will process 100,000 tons of fruits and vegetables per year. Furthermore, a plant designed to generate electricity from waste—valued at $150 million—is scheduled to become operational by the end of the year.

Additionally, three hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) with a combined capacity of 24 megawatts have been commissioned on the Aksuv River. Projects are also underway for gold mining in the Kitob district, as well as the construction of a cable car, a hotel, and a ski resort in Shahrisabz, with a total investment of $300 million.
The President emphasized that 2027 will be a year dedicated to the development of the Kashkadarya region, centered on modern industry and agricultural technologies.
