Putin rejects Tokayev’s proposal to halt the war
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed that Russian President Vladimir Putin temporarily suspend the war in Ukraine and resume peace negotiations. However, Putin rejected the proposal.
According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Russia will cease military operations only after achieving its stated objectives. He emphasized that fulfilling the goals set by Moscow remains the key condition for ending the fighting.
Tokayev, for his part, proposed freezing the conflict and restarting peace talks based on the "Istanbul Formula 2.0." He stressed that continuing the war is causing significant losses for both sides.
