” It is not foreseen that the president (at the ceremony) will be present, " said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the president of Russia, at a briefing with journalists on August 29.
Peskov also noted that the Kremlin did not have accurate records of Prigozhin's funeral.
"However, the decision on this issue is made by relatives and friends (Prigozhin). We can't say anything here without them,” Peskov said.
The Russian Investigative Committee confirmed the death of Prigozhin
On August 23, a private business jet owned by Evgeny Prigozhin crashed in the Tver region. Ten people were killed in the accident: seven passengers and three crew members. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, among others on board were the head of the “Wagner” Prigozhin, the commander of the XHK Dmitry Utkin. On August 27, the Russian Investigative Committee announced that on the basis of a molecular-genetic examination, the identity of the victims of the air crash was determined, and among them the head of Wagner.
"Fontanka" reported that the funeral of Yevgeny Prigozhin could take place on August 29. According to the publication, metal detectors were installed in the Serafimovsky Cemetery in St. Petersburg, which may be associated with the preparation for Prigozhin's funeral.
There is currently no official information about where and when the victims of the catastrophe in Prigozhin and the Tver region will be buried.
