Public Surveillance to Be Strengthened

Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard have begun using service dogs to strengthen control over the circulation of narcotics in public areas.
Patrols have been launched on a trial basis in Tashkent, Nukus, and regional centers. In the capital, canine units are deployed around Tashkent City Mall, City Park, Dream Park, and Magic City.

Service dogs are used to prevent crimes and incidents of assault or escape. Their patrol time is limited to no more than four hours in hot or cold weather.
