On the Republic Square in A large protest rally demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took place in Yerevan in front of the Armenian government building on the evening of September 21.
The protesters gathered at the government building, from where they began marching through the streets of the city, divided into several groups. They began to block roads, the police made detentions. The demonstrators chanted "Nikol is a traitor!".
After the march, the activists returned to the government, where clashes with the police took place. As the correspondent of "Medusa" reports, the police are conducting harsh detentions. The police have built several rows of cordon around the government building and are asking not to commit illegal actions, otherwise promising to use special means.
According to RIA Novosti, 46 people were detained at the government building.The protests in Yerevan began on September 19, when Azerbaijan launched a war against the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The protesters demanded that the Armenian government intervene in the conflict and help the ethnic Armenians living there.
