Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Hold Telephone Conversation

On September 22, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. At the beginning of the conversation, the Head of State congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday, wishing him robust health, happiness, and success in his state activities. The discussion focused on further developing the relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

The parties paid special attention to expanding trade and economic cooperation. They noted the steady growth in trade turnover and discussed joint projects in energy, transport, and other sectors. The importance of ensuring the effective operation of the "Shovot–Dashoguz" joint trade zone was emphasized.

Views were also exchanged regarding preparations for the upcoming Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, as well as the CIS summit to be held in Turkmenistan.

At the conclusion of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President and the people of Turkmenistan on Independence Day.
