During a video conference on reviewing efforts to reduce poverty and ensure employment, as well as defining priorities for the coming year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that 20 trillion UZS will be allocated to regions in 2026 to develop mahalla infrastructure. However, he stressed that the funds will be distributed based on each district’s performance.

In Do‘stlik district, improvement works in the “Chinobod” mahalla were successful, resulting in additional funding being allocated; 130 entrepreneurs launched their businesses and 700 people gained employment. Meanwhile, Uchko‘prik, Bektemir, Jomboy, Kitob, and Tashkent districts showed no notable results.

The president instructed local governors to focus on creating jobs and reducing poverty through quick and well-prepared projects, and to complete all preparatory work within this year. Next year, investment projects worth 675 trillion UZS will be implemented, with 380 trillion directed to construction and 140,000 apartment units built in multi-storey buildings. It was noted that each governor could employ 30,000–35,000 people through construction and infrastructure projects.

The president also pointed out serious shortcomings and window-dressing in employment-related work in several districts. The governors of Denov and Chiroqchi were dismissed. He instructed the prime minister to take appropriate measures against the governors of 20 districts, including Yashnobod, Bukhara, G‘ijduvon, Koson, Xatirchi, Qumqo‘rg‘on, Yangiyo‘l, O‘zbekiston, Guliston, Yakkabog‘, Andijon, Parkent, Tashkent, Nurobod, Uchtepa, Chortoq, Davlatobod, Oltinko‘l, Qiziriq, and Kogon due to serious issues with employment management.
