President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Visits Syrdarya Region

On December 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Syrdarya region to familiarize himself with the activities of industrial enterprises and construction work in local communities.

The first destination of the visit was the River Med Pharm company in the Syrdarya district. This company is one of the country’s leaders in the production of infusion medicines. Today, 20 percent of all infusion solutions produced in Uzbekistan come from this enterprise.

Such medicines are among the most vital medical products for patients. Their production is much more complex than manufacturing ordinary tablets, as these solutions are administered directly into blood vessels. Therefore, they must be produced in absolutely sterile conditions, with high precision and full compliance with international standards.

The total cost of the project exceeds 30 million dollars, and currently, 750 people are employed at the enterprise. The company produces 70 types of medicines, a total of 114 million units per year. 20 percent of the products are exported, demonstrating the company’s international competitiveness.

 

In November, the second phase of the project was launched, expanding production capacities. The enterprise now produces 30 million units of infusion solutions, more than 70 million units of dry antibiotics, and nearly 20 million units of eye and nasal drops annually.

The President was informed about the company’s products and future plans. In the next stage, the number of product types will be increased to 200. The company will introduce the production of injection solutions in glass and plastic containers, as well as tablets and capsules. The number of jobs will be increased to 1,000.

The President also held a conversation with regional activists and elders.

“Changes must be felt first and foremost in the mahallas. You must maintain constant communication with people and guide the youth. If we remain alert and active, our efforts and ongoing reforms will surely produce results. We have come to Syrdarya with big plans. After listening to you, we will implement these plans together,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the President’s Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov, during the visit the head of state will also take part in an extraordinary session of the Syrdarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies, where he will outline the priority tasks for the region’s socio-economic development.
