President receives delegation led by ADB President

Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Asian Development Bank President Masato Kanda as part of his visit to Samarkand. The meeting discussed issues of further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and ADB. It was noted that over the past 30 years, ADB has become an important strategic partner of our country, and currently the portfolio of joint projects has reached nearly $16 billion. It was noted that a number of large projects have been implemented and are ongoing in the areas of energy, transport, water supply, agriculture and social infrastructure. In particular, the meeting noted the importance of effective and timely implementation of projects worth a total of $12.5 billion within the framework of the new partnership program until 2030.
It was also agreed to expand cooperation in areas such as the mortgage market, private sector development, support for youth and women's entrepreneurship, poverty reduction, education and human capital development, and the introduction of digital innovations. The parties paid special attention to actively engaging the financial capabilities of the ADB in promoting large-scale infrastructure projects in Central Asia. At the end of the meeting, a ceremony was held to exchange a partnership program between Uzbekistan and the ADB until 2030.
