President launches new copper enrichment plant in Almalyk

On March 16, a ceremony to launch the 3rd copper enrichment plant at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine was held with the participation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was noted that by 2030, Uzbekistan aims to increase gold production to 175 tons, silver to 500 tons, uranium to 15 thousand tons, and copper to 500 thousand tons. Projects worth a total of $22 billion are being implemented in this direction.
It is expected that about 40 thousand high-income jobs will be created within the framework of these projects. The President called on young people to get an education and work at such large enterprises to find their place in life.
The President also inspected the copper concentrate production process at the OKMK and talked with employees.
