President launches National Dendrological Park, plants saplings

On April 1, Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in a sapling planting event within the framework of the “Green Space” nationwide project and launched the National Dendrological Park, which will be built on an area of ​​​​108 hectares in the capital.

In recent years, 200 million saplings have been planted annually within the framework of the project, and more than 900 green areas have been created on an area of ​​​​more than 2 thousand hectares. Protective forests have been created on an area of ​​​​2 million hectares in the Aral Sea, and the level of greenness in the country has increased from 8 percent to 14.2 percent. The goal is to increase this indicator to 30 percent by 2030.

According to the new plan, large-scale forests will be created in the regions, dendrological and botanical gardens will be established in each region, and “green” technical schools will be opened, training 10 thousand specialists per year.

At the end of the event, the head of state and participants planted seedlings on the first 5 hectares of the park. On that day, 88 thousand trees were planted across the republic.
