President congratulates press and media workers on holiday

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated representatives of the industry on June 27 — Press and Mass Media Workers' Day.
The Head of State emphasized that free and responsible journalism is an important condition for the development of society and the state, and called journalists his constant partner and loyal friend.
The President noted that in recent years, significant reforms have been implemented to ensure freedom of speech, support the media, and develop the information sector. It was noted that today, 67 percent of the country's nearly 2,700 media outlets, more than 90 percent of publishing entities, and 83 percent of printing enterprises belong to the non-state sector.
It was also announced that new measures will be implemented to protect the rights and interests of journalists, improve their professional skills, strengthen their social protection, and improve the activities of the Journalists' Union of Uzbekistan.
The President concluded by congratulating all press and media workers on their professional holiday, wishing them good health, family happiness, and new successes in their work.
