On May 21, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Nuriddin Kholiknazar. During the conversation, the head of state, through the mufti, congratulated all compatriots performing the hajj in the holy city of Mecca on Eid al-Adha, wishing that their prayers for peace in the country and the well-being of the people be accepted.
It is noted that in recent years, more than 15 thousand Uzbeks have been going on the Hajj pilgrimage every year. This year, for the first time, 100 labor veterans, community activists, enlightened people and representatives of low-income families were sent to the Hajj pilgrimage at the state expense.
Mufti Nuriddin Kholiknazar reported that all necessary conditions have been created for pilgrims in Mecca and Medina, and that the prayers are being held in an orderly manner. He also noted that pilgrims pray for the peace of the country and the well-being of the people while standing in holy places.
The conversation also touched upon reforms in the religious and educational sphere, the widespread celebration of Eid al-Adha, and charitable events aimed at supporting the needy. The President also greeted all pilgrims, wishing them the acceptance of their good deeds and a safe return to their homeland.
