Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on Eid al-Adha. In his address, the President noted that Eid al-Adha is a holiday of peace, kindness and generosity, and touched upon the importance of the holiday in strengthening the atmosphere of humanity, solidarity and generosity in society. He also noted that in recent years, the study and promotion of Islamic heritage in Uzbekistan has reached a new level.
The President announced that this year, for the first time, the “Presidential Pilgrims” program was launched, and 100 scholars, enlighteners and community activists were sent on the hajj pilgrimage. It was reported that more than 15 thousand Uzbeks are currently performing the hajj.
At the end of the address, the Head of State wished peace and prosperity to the people and congratulated all compatriots on Eid al-Adha.
