President congratulates culture and art workers on their professional holiday

Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated representatives of the industry on April 15 - the Day of Culture and Art Workers, highly appreciating their services in the development of national culture. In his congratulatory message, the President noted that in recent years, 2 theaters, 19 cultural centers, 16 museums, 20 music and art schools, and 5 specialized universities have been established in the country. He also reported that restoration work is underway at 125 historical and cultural heritage sites. He also noted that the construction of the National Museum of Uzbekistan has begun in Tashkent, and this year, construction and renovation work will be carried out at the Central Exhibition Hall, the building of the Fund of the Directorate of Art Exhibitions, and the Pavel Benkov Art School. The Head of State highlighted the growing international prestige of Uzbek art, as well as the prestigious cultural forums and festivals held in Samarkand, Bukhara, Nukus, Khorezm and Tashkent. In particular, it was reported that 123 films were shot on state orders last year. The President noted that it is planned to increase the share of the creative economy in GDP to 5 percent by 2030, and wished the industry workers good health and new creative achievements.
