President Approves Life Imprisonment for Pedophilia

Shavkat Mirziyoyev supported tougher penalties for violence against women and children, including the introduction of life imprisonment for pedophilia.

Within the framework of the state program, initiatives were also approved to improve mortgage and electric vehicle loan mechanisms, increase the share of renewable energy to 30%, strengthen anti-corruption efforts, and introduce jury participation in criminal courts.

Additionally, proposals to enhance accountability of mahalla funds, develop internal roads and bicycle lanes, open business incubators and vocational retraining centers, introduce energy efficiency KPIs, and establish a waste management system were considered noteworthy.

During discussions with compatriots abroad, nearly 60 additional proposals were received, including licensing of private schools, implementation of medical screening systems, provision of preferential loans, and improvement of export services.
