Police officer arrested for accepting bribe

In Navoi, a senior operative of the Cybersecurity Division of the Rapid Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who has been working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2011, was caught accepting a bribe from a citizen who had stolen money from his card. A citizen living in Karmana stole 62 million soums from his plastic card. When he contacted the internal affairs agency, the officer asked the citizen for $600 in exchange for identifying who had withdrawn the money. He was caught on June 11 of this year while accepting the money from the citizen. The bribe-taking officer was sentenced to 3 years in prison with a 2-year ban on working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
