Polar Bears Take Over Abandoned Soviet Research Station in Russia

Polar bears have taken over an abandoned Soviet polar research station located on an island off Russia’s northeastern coast. Travel blogger Vadim Makhorov captured drone footage at the end of summer showing the bears roaming in and out of the buildings on Kolyuchin Island in the Chukchi Sea.
“I think the bears see the station as a shelter from wind and rain,” the blogger explained.
Reports note that scientists left the research station about 30 years ago.
