Petersburg may ban migrants from working as couriers and taxi drivers

The St. Petersburg government plans to ban migrants from working as couriers and taxi drivers from July 1. The draft resolution was published on May 28.
The following activities will be prohibited for migrants working on a patent basis:
• Rental of passenger cars for driving and taxi services;
• Courier services;
• Delivery services by various vehicles;
• Home food delivery activities;
• Other courier work.
Also, according to the new regulations, companies will have to provide couriers with location-finding devices and mark them with an identification number. The speed limit is 15 km per hour.
The ban will be in effect until the end of 2025.
