People who set off illegal fireworks on New Year’s Eve in Kokand were sentenced to 15 days of arrest

Videos showing dangerous fireworks in Kokand were widely shared on social media, sparking public outrage and debate. On the night of December 31 to January 1, individuals who organized illegal fireworks in the city of Kokand, Fergana region, were sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest, according to the regional Department of Internal Affairs.

It was reported that at around 11:55 p.m. on December 31, 10 to 15 citizens attempted to set off homemade pyrotechnic devices on the roadway of A. Charkhiy Street in Kokand. The investigation found that these pyrotechnic devices had been made in a homemade manner in the village of Okhunqaynar in Uzbekistan district.

By court decision, each offender was sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention and fined an amount equal to 30 times the base calculation unit
