People who have worked in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will be able to receive pensions from both countries

Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have signed an agreement on pension provision. The document is aimed at protecting the pension rights of citizens who have worked in both countries.

Under the agreement, employment periods accumulated by a citizen in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will be mutually taken into account when determining pension eligibility. If the employment period in one country is insufficient to qualify for a pension, the period accumulated in the other country will also be added. Each country will then pay the corresponding share of the pension based on the employment period accumulated within its territory.

In addition, if a citizen moves to the other country, their pension will not be reduced, suspended or cancelled.

The agreement will enter into force after the completion of the relevant procedures.
