In addition, special requirements for the supply and distribution of these products are included.
Since August 26, the law "on the restriction of the distribution and consumption of alcoholic and tobacco products"has entered into force in Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the new law, the activities of cigarette sellers on the street, as well as the sale of tobacco products without a label or without a grain, are prohibited.

It also stipulates that a seller of alcohol and tobacco products must require a buyer who appears under the age of 21 to show a proof of his identity and age, and refuse to sell in the absence of a document.

The following competent authorities are charged with focusing on such a major problem as the sale of cigarettes on the street, as well as ensuring the implementation of the provisions of the law that have entered into force: the Department for the fight against economic crimes under the prosecutor general's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The bill"on the restriction of the distribution and consumption of alcohol and tobacco" was approved by deputies in November 2021, and considered and approved by senators in December 2022.

Before this in Uzbekistan, the age limit for the sale of alcohol and tobacco products was 20 years.
