Park Chan-wook Appointed Jury President of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival

Renowned South Korean director Park Chan-wook has been appointed Jury President of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. The decision has generated significant interest in the global film community.

The director, who gained worldwide recognition with Oldboy and received major awards for Decision to Leave, has become the first Korean filmmaker to hold this position in the festival’s history. He is also the third Asian to preside over the Cannes jury, following Tetsuro Furukaki and Wong Kar-wai.
