Parisians stuck in air-conditioned stores due to heat
As a severe heatwave grips Europe, many Parisians without air conditioning are reportedly flocking to IKEA stores and other large shopping malls to cool off. Some residents are reportedly spending the hottest part of the day inside. The country has recorded nearly 1,000 more deaths than expected during a record-breaking heatwave. While temperatures have topped 40°C in some areas, experts are warning that the heat still poses a health risk.
