Palestinian football chief refuses to shake hands with Israeli counterpart
At the FIFA Congress in Canada, the president of the Palestinian Football Federation, Jibril Rajoub, refused to shake hands with his Israeli counterpart, the association's vice-president, Bassem Suleiman.
They were called to the podium together by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, but Rajoub did not approach. Infantino tried to push him towards Suleiman, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
The Palestinian side explained this decision by protesting against Israel's actions. The Israeli representative denied that there was a genocide in Gaza.
