Pakistani Prime Minister's Visit to Uzbekistan

On February 25, at the invitation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit. Important events and negotiations were held on February 26. At the end of the negotiations, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif signed a Joint Declaration aimed at further developing and strengthening multifaceted Uzbek-Pakistani cooperation and a protocol on the establishment of a bilateral High-Level Strategic Partnership Council.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Shahbaz Sharif also participated in the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Business Forum. The event was attended by about 300 heads and representatives of leading companies of the two countries. The business forum agreed to establish a High-Level Strategic Partnership Council, and trade and economic cooperation was identified as the "locomotive" of bilateral relations.
