Pakistan did not play against Israel at the Chess Olympiad in Samarkand.
In the first round of the 46th World Chess Olympiad taking place in Samarkand, the Pakistan national team refused to play against Israel. Consequently, Israel was awarded a 4–0 victory by default.
The Pakistan Chess Federation stated that this decision aligns with the country's official policy of not recognizing Israel. Federation representatives noted that the boycott was not directed at the athletes themselves but was intended to show support for the Palestinian people.
The Pakistan team is continuing its participation in the tournament against other opponents. The 46th World Chess Olympiad is being held in Samarkand from September 15 to 27.
