Ozodbek Nazarbekov: “Material gain has become the decisive force in life”

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, said in an interview with the Uzbekistan TV channel that material gain has become a decisive force in people’s lives today.
According to him, it is no longer common for people to do anything without expecting financial benefit, which negatively affects values and human relationships in society.

“Nowadays, calculations of material interest are creeping even into relationships between fathers and sons, brothers, and relatives. This wasn’t the case before — families were strong, and kinship ties were highly valued. But now, certain vices are gradually spreading and taking root,” said Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
