Doctors in India removed 29 metal spoons, 19 toothbrushes, and 2 pens from the stomach of a 40-year-old man. He had previously been treated at a drug rehabilitation center in Uttar Pradesh but was later hospitalized due to severe abdominal pain. Examinations revealed dozens of foreign objects in his stomach. The man explained that mistreatment at the rehab center and severe anxiety drove him to swallow whatever objects he could find.
