Over 20 New Higher Education Programs Approved in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan has updated its higher education program and specialty classifier, approving more than 20 new fields of study for bachelor’s and master’s levels.

New bachelor’s programs include:

• ecology and environment;

• green economy;

• climate change;

• renewable energy;

• water resource management;

• mobile robotics;

• unmanned aerial vehicles (drones);

• sustainable agriculture;

• ecotourism;

• railway engineering.

New master’s programs include:

• international energy policy;

• international water diplomacy;

• circular economy;

• sustainable finance;

• development economics;

• environmental law;

• international trade law;

• theoretical and engineering physics;

• urban studies;

• sustainable urban planning;

• climate‑resilient forestry;

• sustainable tourism.

Additionally, some existing programs were renamed, and one specialty was removed. These new programs aim to train qualified professionals for the labor market and future economic sectors.
